When Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCE) was founded in 1940, people joined together to build their own electric system because private power companies did not serve the rural areas. Neighbors were willing to help neighbors to provide the communities with a much-needed resource (electricity). As a Tri-County Electric member, you are an owner of this organization, its history, and its future.
Today, there is a demand throughout our unserved and underserved service territory for affordable reliable high-speed broadband internet service. This is essential to community development, economic growth and prosperity, and educational attainment.
To meet this need TCE's board members and management team launched its wholly-owned broadband subsidiary, TriCoLink. TriCoLink will provide world-class, fiber-to-the-home access to all 15,000 members of the TCE service area. The broadband network will deliver symmetrical gigabit internet capabilities – among the fastest and most robust in the nation – along with high-quality phone services. Additionally, it will enable enhancements and smart grid capabilities to the electrical infrastructure such as improved power outage response times, better load balancing, more efficient electricity delivery, and others.
